Karen Blixen is one of Denmark’s most renowned writers, with a unique and legendary life and authorship. During her lifetime she published seven works: the first as a forty-eight year old in 1934, and the last in 1960, two years before her death. The most well-known work is “Out of Africa”, which covers the seventeen years she spent managing a coffee farm in Africa. Karen Blixen is known and recognized for her exquisite literary style, her brilliant composition, and her philosophical enquiring mind. 

“First and foremost, one must be brave. One cannot live without great courage. And if they asked me again, I would say: One must be able to love and one must have a sense of humour.”
